Bob Farley

Robert Farley has over twenty-five years experience in the private and public sectors in the areas of site selection, corporate real estate, and economic development, with an extensive network of contacts regionally and nationally in these fields.

Recently, Mr. Farley served as President of Angelou Economics in Austin where he was responsible for Economic Development Consulting and Site Selection projects, Day-to-day Operations Management, Employee Selection and Development, Business Development and numerous other Company Management and Professional Applications in behalf of AEI.  Former consulting and development experiences include:

  • Senior Vice President in charge of strategic market consulting for Hillwood Development Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas.  Mr. Farley oversaw Hillwood’s pre-development consulting services including market feasibility studies and other analyses that assist in determining the needs of industrial or corporate entities and identifying their resulting real estate requirements.  He also has assisted clients with the analyses needed to make specific site selection decisions.  Domestic projects took place in Memphis, Southern California, Ann Arbor, with international projects focused in Finland, the Middle East, and Asia.

  • National Practice Leader in the Deloitte & Touche LLP Atlanta office, and was a Partner for Site Location and Economic Development Services at Fantus Consulting.  Fantus was the oldest and most experienced provider of corporate site selection services in the U.S., assisting companies with issues ranging from the development of industrial and distribution centers to corporate campuses.  Mr. Farley also served as Deputy Director of the Texas Department of Commerce and as project liaison in the Governor’s Office for Industrial Recruitment.

Mr. Farley has led consulting engagements for numerous organizations including:

  • Private clients such as Apple Computer, Alliance Development Company, ADP, Lockheed Martin, Porsche Cars North America, AG Simpson, Manulife Financial, Springs Industries and others. 

  • The states of Michigan, North Carolina, and Texas.

  • The metropolitan areas of Arlington (Texas), Miami, Phoenix, Austin, San Antonio and Georgetown Texas (Impact and feasibility study for Georgetown’s TLCC2 – 2007).

Mr. Farley’s international experience, in part, has included projects in Ireland, Finland, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Syracuse University, Mr. Farley also holds both a MPA and a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.  He has published articles on economic development, and has spoken on site location and economic development issues before numerous professional organizations.  Mr. Farley served on the board of directors of the International Council on Economic Development (previously the National Council of Urban Economic Development).
