(1999-2001) Through a joint venture with Hashemyia University, the development team planned and entitled a 400-acre Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ) and Free Zone adjacent to University property. 

The QIZ program allows goods manufactured in Jordan to be imported directly to the US and EU without tariffs.
