Butterfield Kent Furst Student Athlete Facility

The Butterfield, Kent, Furst Student Athlete Facility was named after the three lead donors of the Sun Devil Stadium Reinvention Fundraising Campaign: Steve Butterfield, Bill Kent, and Jack Furst. The SAF was built as the new home of the Sun Devil Football program, but like Sun Devil Stadium was built as a community asset. The SAF was designed with both teaching and physicality in mind. The first thing visitors will see intentionally is the weight room, the physical foundation of the program. The first floor of the building features a 12,000 SF weight room and cardio deck.  The second floor features the football locker room, equipment room, nutrition bar, sports medicine room, training table, and the Tillman Tunnel. The training table, like the rest of the stadium, will be the main multi-purpose feature of the SAF. On non-game days this space is used as an event venue, meeting room, recruiting room, and a place for all athletes to share meals. The third floor has two primary functions: the coaching wing, home the coach’s offices, administration offices, and war rooms and the player’s wing, featuring all the position meeting rooms and team auditorium.
